Theses & Dissertations
In general, theses and dissertations are research-based, written works that are required for students to complete a degree. The main difference between the two is that dissertations are meant to fill gaps in a subject area-- something that has either not been studied, or studied minimally. At Cal State LA, theses are required for master's degrees, and dissertations are for doctoral programs.
