Business Research Sources

Marketing Research @ CSULA

Marketing research involves using multiple databases in order to put together a complete picture of a company's marketing efforts or best practices as well as standard industry marketing practices and procedures. Additionally, it is useful to research similar products from competing. The following guide will give you easy access to the databases and resources you'll need to develop a go to market plan that looks at relevant industry and competitor information.

Links to Business Information Databases

The links below are to the databases most useful for retrieving news and industry press on products, companies, competitors and industries. This can be a great strategy for getting started on your topic before you research a company or industry in depth using the company and industry tabs.

  • ABI/Inform Global
Great source of peer reviewed/scholarly articles related to business and academic business topics.
  • Business Source Premier
Like ABI/Inform, a core business database for literature reviews and finding scholarly articles.
  • LexisNexis Academic
Authoritative source for searching news, trends and facts.
  • Factiva
Similar to LexisNexis. Not a source of academic or scholarly articles but more authoritative than simply googling a topic to find news in order to verify a fact or trend.
  • RefWorks
Refworks can be a time and aggravation saver. Use it to create reference pages and in text citations. If you are ever asked for a group code it is rwcsulosangeles.
